Eric shot at a 8/9 point with his bow yesterday evening and it flinched just as he launched the broadhead. He heard a good sounding thwack but apparently the bullet hit the front shoulder bone and it ran off. I called Kenny and John to help track the buck and we found a decent patch of blood which quickly turned to a small drop ever 15 feet or so. After 150 yards the drops stopped so we gave up for the night and headed out at daybreak this morning. Not a speck of anymore blood and he never laid down. We did find about 2/3 of the arrow on the trail so he is running around with about 6 inches of arrow in him and a sore shoulder. Perhaps we can get him on Saturday with a dose of 30-'06!

Well, that's a bummer, Rick. My neighbor shot a buck last year with a 30/30 & knocked it down & had the same results. This year he killed a doe with his cross bow & broke the front shoulder & out the other side. Ran about 20 yards & flopped over dead......Paul H

You can use dogs in Missouri but they must be on a leash. We took Bela down there and she was totally uninterested at the end of the blood trail.
