I've been watching 12-15 in my yard and they are finding food at 24 degrees....what are bugs/worms doing so close to the surface??

We've had occasional robins here all winter. For the past couple weeks they're fighting for territory. Millions of acres in the world for them & they fight over one square foot. ......Paul H
