The summer solstice arrives Thursday, June 21, at 5:07 a.m. CDT, marking the first day of summer in the Northern Hemisphere. Here in Linn County Missouri that translates to eggzactly 15 hours of daylight......yippee!

Summer just started here a few minutes ago. At least it started with rain & thunder storms which we need bad. The fodder blades on the corn was rolling up from heat & the beans were looking wilted. Rain puts new life into it. As jOe said, downhill from here on. ......Paul H

We had 6 tenths on Tuesday which was the first rain in 9 days and we had only 9 tenths for 29 days until Tuesday. We have a 60% chance this afternoon.

I 'celebrate' the WINTER solstice, and mourn the summer.

That said, the last, and next couple of months are GREAT!
