Normally around here a lot of trees have changed color & shed half their leaves by the last of September. We're going into the second half of October now & there's little or no sign the leaves are changing. Walnut trees almost always drop their leaves first. They have done that already. Redbuds normally drop their leaves by October first. Not this fall. They are changing color now but still on the trees. It has been a wet & warm fall till a week or so ago. We've had temp's in the upper 30's to 65 degrees for approximately a week with one very light frost. The hummingbirds disappeared on Oct. 10th. All of them left before the 10th except the one with an attitude about everything. Normally they're all gone by Oct. first. ......Usually I see a few young bucks in the back yard during daylight hours. Haven't seen a single one this fall. Saw tracks of a huge buck in the turnip patch a few days ago & set the trail camera up to get a picture if he comes back. No joy there  & no indication he came back. Every leaf on the trees are still green as they were in June. Temp's change as much as 13 degrees in four hours. Birds are starting to act like fall is coming. Doves swarm the feeding area & other birds are eating weed seeds now. ......Paul H
