It's been a typical LONG Alaskan winter, and therefore instead of shooting, I have been working on making shooting 'stuff' - guns, ammo, etc.
I thought I should probably make a list of things that need doing when the weather gets nice enough to get out and shoot! After all,
shooting, IS what "it's" all about.
There are three reasons I am making the list here.
1) I come here frequently, and therefore will be able to FIND the list when I want to,
2) I will rely on the members of THL to 'remind' me of things on the list that I haven't done, and,
3) By putting up a list of things here, I hope to refresh some member's memories about things I said I was going to do, and haven't yet done. In other words, the membership can help me get the list complete.
So here goes:
1) Get the scope mounted on the Navy Arms Martini chambered in .25 Krag AI and develop loads for it.
2) Get loads worked up (by shooting) for the .338-06 using bullets swaged from .358 caliber pistol bullets.
3) Get loads worked up (by shooting) for the .338-08 using bullets swaged from .358 caliber pistol bullets.
4) Get loads worked up for 8mm-08 (AR-10) using swaged bullets, and bullets swaged from .358 caliber pistol bullets.
5) See how rolling block chambered in 12.7x44R (CF) shoots with my handloads.
6) Develop "good" loads using nickle-plated #5 shot in 16 gauge for the various 16 gauges I have including the ones with Damascus barrels.
7) Test slug loads I developed YEARS ago for the French 16 gauge "Boar" gun. (

8) Sight in and develop loads for the Howa chambered in .308 Win. (

9) Finish extractor for the Huglu "Cape Gun" chambered in 16 ga and .416x348 Win. (Remember this?

10) Shoot CZ 450 that has new .22 WMR barrel on it.
11) Get the forcing cones on the chambers on all of my 28 gauge shotguns lengthened. (I have the reamer in hand.)
12) Test fire all of my 28 gauge shotguns including the new bolt action Mauser.
13) Cast some more:
. . . . . a) 10 gauge round ball for The Beast (

. . . . . b) .50 cal bullets for the 12.7x44R AND the .500 S&W (
http://thehunterslife.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15685) Turns out that the 500 S&W reloading dies work perfectly for the12.7x44R (CF).
14) Make new scope base for Riedl. (

15) Make some gas check forming dies for .50 cal.
16) Make some 'pointing' (nose forming) dies for 8mm bullet swaging.
17) Swage some more .510 caliber bullets for the .50 Alaskan (

That's a good enough start. Y'all can remind me of things you think I have left off/forgotten.
