The old bag finally brought her new babies in. Two of them as usual. Appears to be a boy & girl. Best I remember this makes 9 babies she has had. Usually there's a boy & a girl. They were probably born mid June. Very prolific old deer. There is two other does around but I haven't seen them lately. The boy can't behave himself. He plunders everything & draws his little sister along. It's obvious granny gets upset with him but he doesn't care. ....Granny is shrinking in size. She used to be considerably heavier. It appears wild animals get smaller after a certain age just as humans do. One bear I killed  weighed 240 pounds field dressed & everyone guessed it was around 14-16 years old. It was in the decline of life I suppose. My favorite bear anyway. The pictures aren't very good but you can see them anyway. My eyesight is so bad now I'm unable to determine how good things look. Enjoy. .......Paul H

How old do you suppose the "old bag" is Mr. Hoskins? 6 maybe 7?

Thanks, guys. It's always nice to see granny out in the back yard. She isn't tame by a long shot but doesn't get too excited if Muffin & I sit on the back porch & have coffee & chat as long as we keep our voices down. She doesn't like strangers at all. Even the neighbors next door. She comes up within 30-40 feet of the back porch & eats with us sitting out there. Best I remember she is 5 years old. The old red tail hawk is 11 years old. He's still around. His girlfriend hatched out another baby this spring. I'll see if I can find a picture of them. Lousy picture but the only one I can locate quickly.  .....Paul H
