I got my BA from California State Univ, San Francisco. Ronald Regan and SI Hayakowa signed my degree in Gepgraphy. Over the years I was a lifetime member of the National Geographic Society and the Smithsonian. While at Eric's this Tuesday night I picked up a copy of the boys Smithsonian magazine and here's what I found on Trees titled "Whispering trees, can trees really talk to each other?"

"Trees can experience something analogous to pain. When a tree is cut, it sends electrical signals like wounded human tissue."

"We must talk about the rights of trees. We must allow some trees to grow old with dignity and die a natural death."

"These are two old friends. They are considerate in sharing sunlight and their root systems are closely connected."
